Define the Name of the Status Attribute that is Associated with an Extra Field
Every item in the Geo SCADA Expert database has its own Status display (also referred to as a View window or View dialog). You view an item's Status display by selecting that item's View Status pick action or menu option. The Status display provides information about the status of the selected item, presenting the information in the form of 'status attributes'. For further information about working with Status displays, see Status Displays.
With each custom extra field that you add, you can optionally include that field's value on the Status display of the relevant database items (the database items related to the Table that you associate with the new field). The Status display shows a snapshot of the status of the database item. You can define the name of the status attribute that shows the value of the custom field on the Status display. You do this using the Edit Field window.
To define or modify the Target Type access the Edit Field window, see Add or Modify an Extra Field.
In the Edit Field window, use the Status Display Property Name setting to define the name of the status attribute that shows the custom field’s value on the Status display:
- Status Display Property Name—Enter a suitable name for the status attribute. The name will appear alongside the custom field’s value in the relevant Status displays.Example:
If you enter
SiteLocation
as the Status Display Property Name entry for an extra field that uses the CDBPoint table, the Status display for points will contain a status attribute namedSiteLocation
. The value of the status attribute will be that defined for the SiteLocation field on the selected point.Leave the Status Display Property Name field blank if you do not want to include an entry for the custom field on the Status displays.
