ViewX Exception Files
If a problem causes a ViewX client to stop responding, Geo SCADA Expert will generate a minidump file and then terminate the ViewX application. (It terminates the process so that a new ViewX session can be started cleanly.)
The minidump file will use the following file name convention:
SE.Scada.ViewX <date> <time>.mdmp
SE.Scada.ViewX 2018-10-04 08-17-56.mdmp
(For a file that relates to an exception that occurred at 08:17:56am on 4th October 2018.)
The minidump file will contain diagnostic data that relates to the issue that caused ViewX to stop responding.
Geo SCADA Expert will also generate a zip file that contains:
- The latest minidump file (the one that relates to the exception)
- The current set of ViewX log file(s) (the ones with file extensions that are not appended with an underscore and number).
The zip file will be given the same name as the minidump file and will be placed in the same location as the minidump file
(If the zip file and minidump file are not at the default location, a different path might be specified in the registry (see Use a Registry Editor to Change ViewX Exception File Settings).)
You can send the zip file to Schneider Electric support for analysis.
If you do need to contact Schneider Electric for assistance, be aware that existing warranty and support arrangements determine the level of help that you receive.
