Connection State
Associated with: AVEVA Historic Data Export items
The Connection State attribute indicates the status of the network connection between HCAL and the historian server.
The possible connection states are:
- Disconnected—The AVEVA Historic Data Export driver has not opened a network connection. For example, this could be because the database item is not 'in service' or there is a configuration error.
- Open Failed—HCAL has failed to open the connection to the historian server. HCAL will not try to open the connection again.
- Failed - <Error Message>—An error occurred when HCAL tried to connect to the historian server. This might indicate that:
- The historian server is offline
- There is a network issue
- A user may have entered an incorrect username or password
- A user may have entered an incorrect or invalid node name
- There has been a Domain Name System (DNS) failure.
- Pending—The connection status is not yet available from HCAL. This is a transitory state.
- Connecting—HCAL is still connecting to the historian server. This is a transitory state.
- Connected to Server—HCAL has connected to the historian server.
- Connected to Storage—HCAL has connected to the historian server storage engine and is ready to accept data from Geo SCADA Expert.
