Installing the In-Database Translation Dictionary Excel Add-In Program
The In-Database Translation Dictionary is part of the Geo SCADA Expert database and, for convenience, you can create and maintain it in a Microsoft® Excel® spreadsheet by using an Excel add-in program.
You can install the Excel add-in program on any server or client computer that meets the following recommended specifications:
You should also have Excel installed on the computer.
You can install the Excel add-in program from either:
- The Geo SCADA Expert Resource Center (if you have access to the Internet and the Resource Center webpages on the Schneider Electric Community website) or
- The Geo SCADA Expert installation disk.
To install the add-in program from the Resource Center (Geo SCADA Knowledge Base):
- In the ViewX client, select the File menu.
A context-sensitive menu is displayed. - Select the Help option.
A further context-sensitive menu is displayed.
- Select the Online Resource Center option.
The Resource Center home page is displayed in the Geo SCADA Knowledge Base area of the Schneider Electric Community website.

From the Child Pages list select Tools & Samples.
The Tools & Samples page is displayed.

Select the Software Installation Kit Link from the Excel Language/Dictionary Manager section.
The download screen is displayed.

Click Download to download the ExcelDictionaryInstaller.msi file.
- Open the downloaded installer file to install the Geo SCADA Expert Excel Dictionary Tool.
The Excel add-in program Setup Wizard displays.
- Follow the displayed instructions to install the add-in program.
To install the add-in program from the Geo SCADA Expert installation disk:
- Insert the Geo SCADA Expert disk. If Autorun is disabled on your PC, run the disk manually.
- When the Installer screen is displayed, select Install Geo SCADA Expert Excel Dictionary Tool.
The Excel add-in program Setup Wizard displays.
- Follow the displayed instructions to install the add-in program.
