Configuring Analog Points

The Performance Monitor driver uses Performance Monitor Analog Input points to reference the individual system performance attributes that it is to monitor, and to define how that performance data is to be managed within Geo SCADA Expert.

This section covers configuration of properties on the Performance Monitor tab of the Form (see Configure the Performance Monitor Properties). Configure the properties of each analog point using the fields on the Performance Monitor Analog Point Form.

You need to configure a separate Performance Monitor Analog point for each performance attribute that you want to monitor on a particular node.

Example:

Two Performance Monitor Analog points monitor aspects of performance on a Geo SCADA Expert server.

One analog point monitors the available bytes of memory on the server, and raises an alarm if this drops below a certain percentage.

Another analog point monitors the available disk space on the server, and is configured to raise an alarm when the disk containing the historic data reaches 75% full. The alarm indicates that the amount of historic data being stored is too great and may need to be reduced (for example, by reducing the data’s life time, or re-configuring some points to store less historic data).
