Configure Poll Rates for a Remote Device
This section allows you to configure the Poll Rate parameters, which depend on the Poll Type selection in the General Settings.
Enter the required interval in the OPC Time Format. You can enter the value directly in the field, or use the Interval window (accessed via the field's browse button) to specify the required value.
The following table illustrates the relationship between the Poll Type and the Poll Rate parameters:
Poll Type | Poll Rate Parameter | Parameter Description |
---|---|---|
Background Poll | Background Poll |
This defines the interval at which the SCADAPack x70 sends an integrity poll to the DNP3 Outstation. This poll is delayed when the SCADAPack x70 receives an unsolicited response from the DNP3 Outstation. The Background Poll time is typically set to a smaller value than the Must Poll Interval. Default: 65 seconds |
Must Poll Interval |
This defines the interval at which the SCADAPack x70 sends an integrity poll to the DNP3 Outstation regardless of received unsolicited responses. Default: 65 seconds |
|
Ratio Poll | Event Poll Interval |
This defines the interval between event polls. Default: 65 seconds |
Integrity Poll Ratio |
This ratio determines how many event polls are issued between integrity polls. For example, if you leave the default value of 65, there will be one integrity poll for every 65 event polls. Default: 65 |

Static Only Poll | Poll Interval |
This defines the interval between Class 0 polls. Default: 65 seconds |
