Create an Analog Configuration Item
Add a SCADAPack x70 Analog Configuration item to the database. This item will contain the configuration that you can download to the SCADAPack 575 for the analog input point that you will create for this tutorial.
When you create the item, you can leave most of the configuration fields at their default values.
On the SCADAPack x70 tab of the configuration Form, the only fields that you have to change for this tutorial are:
- In Service—Select the check box to enable the SCADAPack x70 Analog Configuration item.
- Device Configuration—Specify the SCADAPack x70 57x Device Configuration item that you created earlier in this tutorial.
- Name—Set this to PIO_SP575_AI1.
- Event Deviation Type—(This field is located within the Value Deviation section, part-way down the tab.) Set this to Percentage.
- Event Deviation—(This field is located within the Value Deviation section, part-way down the tab.) Set this to 1.
- Unsolicited Events (DNP3 Only)—(This check box is located within the Value Deviation section, part-way down the tab.) Select this check box so that it displays a check mark.
Ensure that you select the Unsolicited Events (DNP3 Only) check box that is within the Value Deviation section of the tab, rather than the check box that is within the Out of Range Limits section of the tab. (Selecting the latter check box only triggers the SCADAPack 575 device to report analog point changes as they occur if those changes cause the point's value to go underrange or overrange.)
- Overrange—(Located within the Out of Range Limits section, part-way down the tab.) Set the Limit to 101 and select the adjacent Enabled check box so that it displays a check mark.
- Underrange—(Located within the Out of Range Limits section, part-way down the tab.) Set the Limit to -1 and select the adjacent Enabled check box so that it displays a check mark.
On the DNP3 tab, the only fields you have to change are:
- Enabled—Ensure that this check box is selected, so that it displays a check mark. Other fields become available for use on the tab.
- DNP3 Point Number—Set this to 1.
- DNP3 Static Group and Variation—Ensure that this is set to Short Float Analog Input (g30v5).
- Controlling Station 1 Point Data Class—Set this to Class 1 Event.
Once you have configured the Analog Configuration item, you can proceed to Create Another Analog Configuration Item.
