Save a Snapshot of the Status Data Currently on Display

Do not confuse these manually requested snapshot files with the server snapshot log files that Geo SCADA Expert generates automatically (see Server Snapshot Log Files).

You can save a snapshot of the status data that is shown in the Server Status Display. The snapshot contains the status information that is currently shown in the Server Status Display and is stored as a text file.

Snapshot files are useful as they can easily be sent to other users via e-mail, allowing other users to view the status of the server on which you are working.

The snapshot stores the status information that is shown in the Server Status Display when the Save Snapshot option is selected. It only contains the data for the category that is currently selected, for example, if you have the Locks category selected, the snapshot file will only contain the status values for Locks.

To save a snapshot of the status data:

  1. Access the Geo SCADA Expert Server Status tool.
  2. Display the section of the tool for which you want to store a snapshot of the data.
  3. Select the File menu.
  4. Select the Save Snapshot option.
The Save As window is displayed.
  5. Use the Save As window to define a name and location for the text file that will contain the status data.
  6. Select the Save button to store the text file.
