Mode of Operation of a Virtual ViewX Server

You can change the mode of operation of a Virtual ViewX server in order to allow users to make database configuration changes using the Virtual ViewX clients that are running on that server. You can run Virtual ViewX in either of the following modes:

• Limited Virtual ViewX/Operator mode (default)
• Full Virtual ViewX (see below)

When you run Virtual ViewX without the limited mode, if your User Account has the relevant access and permissions, you will be able to make configuration changes through your web client.

To change the mode of operation:

1. From the Start menu, open the Virtual ViewX Manager (see Working with the Virtual ViewX Manager).
2. Navigate to the Applications tab.
3. Double-click the application listed in the Application list section.
   The Virtual ViewX Server Application Profiles Editor window is displayed.
4. On the General tab, in the Arguments field, remove the /limited argument and then select the OK button.

    

   The arguments

   /thinfinityvirtualui /limited /bellSilenced have to be changed to

   /thinfinityvirtualui /bellSilenced.

5. Select the Apply button.
   The Virtual ViewX server is now running in Full Virtual ViewX mode.
