Remove an Alarm with Comment

You can use the Remove with Comment option to remove an existing alarm and enter a brief message as to why the alarm is being removed.

WARNING

LACK OF ALARM NOTIFICATION

Use the Remove with Comment option with care. Removing an alarm using this option will stop the alarm displaying on the system. Before using the option, we strongly recommend that you perform a risk analysis to ensure that the removal of existing alarms will not pose a danger to people or equipment.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, serious injury, or equipment damage.

When you select the Remove with Comment option, the Removal Comment window is displayed. Enter your comment in the window.

The comment can be viewed by any user who has access to the Events List (see Events in the ClearSCADA Guide to ViewX and WebX Clients). The comment forms part of the record that is added to the Events List when the alarm is removed.

As with the Remove option (see Remove an Alarm), the alarm is removed from the Alarm Banner, Alarms List and other displays, such as Mimics.

A new alarm will be raised if the condition that caused the removed alarm clears, but later recurs.

To remove an alarm without entering a comment, select the Remove or Remove Alarms option, rather than the Remove with Comment option (see Remove an Alarm).
