Changing the Password for a User Account

ATTENTION: This section only applies to User Accounts that are managed directly in ClearSCADA. With User Accounts that are associated with Windows or LDAP User Profiles, password management is performed via the relevant Windows domain or LDAP server.

Depending on the permissions allocated to your user account (and the features made available via your user account's configuration), you can change your password and/or the password of other users. This is useful when other users have forgotten their passwords and so need them resetting.

We recommend that you change passwords on a regular basis, (see Define the Default Security Settings for New User Accounts). Changing passwords regularly means that if an unauthorized user discovers a password, there is a limited time period in which it will be valid and so they have less opportunity to log on.
