The Take Partial Exclusive Control action allows you to take exclusive control of every item in a Group except those that are already under the exclusive control of another user. When you take exclusive control of an item, other users cannot access the reserved features for the item (until the exclusive control is released, either by you or by another user with the Manage Exclusive Control permission).
Take Partial Exclusive Control is available on a Group’s context sensitive menu when all of the following conditions are true:
- The Exclusive Control feature is enabled in the server configuration.
- The Group does not have the Exclude from Exclusive Control option selected on its Form. For more information, refer to see Configure the Properties of the Root or System Group in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Configuration.
- You are logged on via a custom user account (i.e. an account other than the Super User or Guest account).
- The Group is not already under exclusive control.
- At least one of the items in the Group is under the exclusive control of another user. If the items in the Group are not under the exclusive control of another user, the Take Complete Exclusive Control action is made available instead of the Take Partial Exclusive Control action.
