Display ClearSCADA Help

To access detailed help information, display the required ClearSCADA Help as follows:

ViewX Client

Or:

  1. Select the File menu.
    A context-sensitive menu is displayed.
  2. Select the Help option.
A further context-sensitive menu is displayed.

  3. Select the Contents option to display the online Help Welcome page, or select one of the options that appear after the second separator. These will take you to a specific section of the Help.

The What's New option provides information about the features and functionality that are new to this version of ClearSCADA.

The Online options, and the options that appear after the third separator line, are intended for use by high-level engineers and system administrators. These include options to:

    • Access the Schneider Electric Resource Center or Support Forum (providing that your computer has Internet access)
    • View online help information relating to Security, System Performance and Server Administration
    • Launch the Database Schema.

The About option provides information about the version of ClearSCADA that is running on your local computer (see Check the Version of your ClearSCADA Software in the ClearSCADA Guide to Security).

The links to the online sites and resource centers might be omitted from the Help menu. A registry setting can be used to remove the options if they are not required (for example if your computer does not have Internet access). For more information, see Remove the Links to Online Internet Sites.

WebX Client

Select the Help button on the WebX navigation bar (see Understand the WebX Interface in the ClearSCADA Guide to ViewX and WebX Clients).

When you display the Help for the first time on a new ClearSCADA installation, a progress bar appears while the Help is unpacked on the machine on which it is installed.

Once unpacked, you can display the Help using any of the means mentioned above.
