Advanced OPC Group Status Attributes
This section summarizes the status attributes that are specific to Advanced OPC Groups.
- Group State Alarm—This attribute indicates the alarm state of the group within any of the servers. It displays one of the Standard Alarm States.
- Source—If the group is only associated with one server then the Server ProgID of the server is displayed. If the group is associated with more than one server, then the number of servers is indicated, (see Source).
- State—This indicates the state of the group in a server, if more than one server is associated with the group then the state of the group in each server is shown, (see Group State).
- Current Server—This indicates the name of the server that the group is currently using. In a multi -server environment the group is only active in one server.
- Switching—If the group is associated with more than one server, then this indicates whether switching between servers is enabled/disabled, (see Actions Associated with Advanced OPC Groups).
If switching is disabled then both automatic switching, when a server fails, or when the groups fails in a server, and manual switching using the Switch Server pick action are blocked.
- Actual Update Rate—This indicates the asynchronous update rate used by the current server. This can be compared against the configured update rate within the group in the event that the server rejects the configured rate, (see Asynchronous Polling)
- Actual Keep Alive Interval—This indicates the value of the asynchronous keep alive interval being used by the current server. This can be compared against the configured setting within the group in the event that the server rejects the configured rate. This attribute is only available with OPC DA 3.0, (see Asynchronous Polling)
