Configuring Digital Points
D Series radios provide support for interrogation of fewer diagnostics parameters than other supported radio series. To retrieve an item of diagnostics data from a D Series radio, you associate that data with a Trio Diagnostics Analog Point; other types of point are not used to retrieve diagnostics data from D Series radios.
The Advanced Trio Diagnostics driver supports these types of digital point:
- Advanced Trio Diagnostics Digital Input Point—Use to retrieve an item of diagnostics data that can be in one of a set number of states.
- Advanced Trio Diagnostics Digital Output Point—Use to control an output on a Trio radio (such as a relay output, or the switching on a hot-standby radio). Only some types of Trio radio support controllable outputs.
Configure each point’s properties using the fields on the Advanced Trio Diagnostics Digital Input Point Form, or Advanced Trio Diagnostics Digital Output Point Form, as applicable.
The configuration Form contains many fields, organized into tabs. Most of these tabs contain properties that are common to points on many drivers (see Tabs on Point Forms in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Advanced Drivers).
The Digital Point tab includes properties that are specific to the Advanced Trio Diagnostics driver. Use the tab to:
- Configure the Advanced Trio Diagnostic Properties that are Specific to Digital Points
- Configure the required Persistence (see Use Persistence to Stop Fleeting Changes in Value from Changing a Point State).
The other properties on the Digital Point tab are common to digital points on many drivers (see Defining Digital Point Details in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration).
