Configuring DNP3 Analog Points
This section provides information about DNP3 ‘Generic’ analog points (see DNP3 Master Configuration). If your system is running a DNP3 Extension Driver, other types of DNP3 analog point might be available. For information about non-generic DNP3 analog points, see the relevant DNP3 extension driver guide.
The Geo SCADA Expert DNP3 driver supports Analog Input and Analog Output points.
Configure the properties of each Analog point using the fields on the DNP3 Analog Input Point Form, or the DNP3 Analog Output Point Form, as appropriate.
This section covers configuration of DNP3-specific properties on the Analog Point tab on both Forms and the Control tab on the DNP3 Analog Output Point Form.
For both DNP3 Analog Input Points and DNP3 Analog Outputs Points, use the Analog Point tab to:
- Configure General Properties
- Configure Alarm Limits
- Configure any Alarm Limit Profiles (see Specify any Alarm Limit Profiles in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration).
(If your system is running a DNP3 Extension Driver, see the guide to that extension driver. Alarm Limit Profiles are only supported by analog points on some extension drivers.)
- Configure Point Scaling
- Configure Formatting properties (see Define the Appearance of an Analog Point’s Values in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Configure Override Properties
- Configure Significant Change Properties
- Configure the No Change Properties (see Detect whether an Analog Point has Stopped Changing in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration).
- Configure Trend Properties (see Define an Analog Point’s Trend Settings in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Configure Logged Data Properties.
For DNP3 Analog Output Points there are two additional tabs: a Control Tab and a Control Checks tab.
Use the Control tab to:
You can optionally use the Control Checks tab to configure the Control Checks settings (see Configuring Control Checks Settings in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration).
The fields on other tabs are common to points on many advanced drivers—see Tabs on Point Forms in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Advanced Drivers.
