Source
Associated with: Many DNP3-specific database items
The Source attribute is common to many Status displays. The attribute indicates the location at which the item resides. The information shown varies, depending on the item.
The Source attribute displays the value Undefined if the item’s configuration is incomplete, in so far as the device with which the item is associated has not yet been specified.
For many point types and pulse actions on the DNP3 driver, information is displayed in this format:
Master <DNP3 Local Address>: OS <Address>:<Point Type> Point Number <No.>
For binary input and binary output points, information is displayed in this format:
Master <DNP3 Local Address>: OS <Address>:<Point Type> Point Number <No.> Bits <No.>
Example:
Master 30000:OS 1:AI Point Number 1
(For an analog input point residing at Point Number 1 in the outstation. The outstation’s address is 1, and it belongs to the outstation set that has a DNP3 Local Address of 30000.)
Master 30000:OS 2:DGP Point Numbers 3 and 4
(For a Pulse Action (Trip-Close). The Pulse’s Trip action is assigned to point address 3 and its Close action is assigned to point address 4. It is located on the outstation that has an address of 2, on the outstation set that has a DNP3 Local Address of 30000. As the DNP3 driver supports two types of Pulse Action, they are differentiated by the number of configurable actions and point numbers—one for NULL, and two for Trip-Close.)
The Source value displays the type of DNP3 point using these abbreviations:
