Configuring Digital Points
The Kingfisher driver supports 1-, 2-, and 3-bit Digital Input Points and Digital Output Points.
Configure the properties of each digital point using the fields on the Kingfisher Digital Input Point Form, or the Kingfisher Digital Output Point Form, as appropriate.
This section covers configuration of properties on the Digital Point tab of both Kingfisher Digital Point Forms, and the properties on the Control tab for Digital Output points.
Use the Digital Point tab to:
- Configure Common Point Properties
- Configure Point State Properties
- Configure Override Properties (see Define whether a Digital Point can be Overridden in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Use Persistence to Stop Fleeting Changes in Value from Changing the Point State
- Configure Trend Properties (see Define a Digital Point’s Trend Settings in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Configure the Logged Data Properties (see Log Point Data on Kingfisher Outstations).
For Kingfisher Digital Output points, there are two additional tabs: a Control Tab and a Control Checks tab.
Use the Control tab to:
- Configure the Control Actions (see Define the Control Settings for a Digital Output Point in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Specify whether any Outstations are given Scanning Priority whenever a Control Action is Issued (see Outstation Promotion in this guide, and see Promoting Scanning of Outstations Associated with Controls in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Specify Whether to Update an Output Point Value Immediately Following a Control.
You can optionally use the Control Checks tab to configure the Control Checks settings (see Configuring Control Checks Settings in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration).
For information on the fields on other tabs, see Tabs on Point Forms in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Advanced Drivers.
