Kingfisher Master Configuration

For each Kingfisher Master, you need to configure:

  1. Kingfisher Channels to represent the communication connections between the Master Kingfisher outstation and its Remote outstation(s) (see Configuring a Kingfisher Channel).
  2. Kingfisher Outstation Sets to define groups of Master outstations that share the same communications media (see Configuring a Kingfisher Outstation Set).
  3. A Kingfisher Master Outstation to define the unit that monitors data and controls the Remote outstations (see Configuring a Kingfisher Outstation).

For more information on how a Kingfisher Master outstation communicates with Kingfisher Remote outstations, see Kingfisher Master Outstation with Remote Outstations.

  4. Kingfisher Remote Outstations for each unit that monitors data and controls plant. These units transmit their data to a Kingfisher Master outstation (see Configuring a Kingfisher Outstation)
  5. Kingfisher Points to represent the analog and digital measuring instruments and control devices that are connected to the Kingfisher outstations (see Points Used on Kingfisher Outstations). You will need to configure database points for the inputs and outputs on the Kingfisher Master outstation, as well as the inputs and outputs on the Kingfisher Remote outstations.

To minimize the time that it takes to configure the required Kingfisher items, you may want to configure them in the order listed above. This is because set configuration requires you to specify a channel, outstation configuration requires you to specify a set, and so on.
