Alarm Limits
Use the fields within the Alarm Limits section of the Analog Point tab to set alarm limits for a point and to specify whether Geo SCADA Expert generates an alarm or event if the point exceeds those limits.
Some of the Alarm Limits fields are common to many analog points (see Configure the Limits for an Analog Point in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration).
- For information on Hysteresis, see Specify the Hysteresis - the Minimum Value Change that can Clear an Alarm in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration.
- For information on the Engineering Units Exceeded field, see Define how Over Range and Under Range Values are Processed in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration.
- For information on the Tune Limits feature, see Define whether an Analog Point's Limits can be Tuned in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration.
- Area Of Interest—If the Area of Interest feature is enabled on your system, Geo SCADA Expert displays an Area of Interest field within the Alarm Limits section (see Enable the Area of Interest Feature in Geo SCADA Expert in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Configuration).
Use the browse button to display a Reference browse window. Select the relevant Area Of Interest from the window (see Specify the Area of Interest Associated with a Point's State Related Alarms and Events in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration).
When Geo SCADA Expert raises an alarm for the point, the alarm will only be visible to users who have access to this Area of Interest.
