Configure Common Point Properties
Use the fields at the top of the <Point Type> tab to configure the common point properties.
The following fields are common to the points on SCADAPack 50 outstations. For fields that are not described here, see the relevant point configuration section within this guide.
- In Service—Specify whether the point is active or inactive (see Placing an Item In Service in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Configuration).
- Confirm Disable/Enable—Specify whether an operator needs to confirm an action that they have requested, before Geo SCADA Expert carries out that action (see Requesting Confirmation of Action Requests in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Configuration).
- Outstation—Specify the outstation (device) on which the point is located. Use the browse button to display a Reference browse window. Select the relevant outstation from the window.
- Severity—Use this combo box to define the severity of point status alarms (see Defining Severities in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Configuration).
- Area of Interest—Geo SCADA Expert displays this field if the Area of Interest feature is enabled on your system (see Enable the Area of Interest Feature in Geo SCADA Expert in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Configuration).
Use the field to specify the Area of Interest for the point's alarms or events. Use the browse button to display a Reference browse window. Select the relevant Area Of Interest from the window (see Assign a Different Area of Interest to an Item's Alarms and Events in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Configuration).
When Geo SCADA Expert raises an alarm for the point, the alarm will only be visible to users who have access to this Area of Interest.
