Configure the SCADAPack 50 Device SMS Message Encoding

Perform this procedure after you Configure a Test SCADAPack 50 Device Point.

Use the information in this topic together with the device documentation.

Follow this procedure to configure the device SMS message encoding:

  1. In the Kervisu Menu Bar, select the NETWORK-SMS option.

    The NETWORK-SMS screen is displayed.

  2. Set the following properties (leave the other properties at their default settings):

    • SMS sent in binary mode—From the combo box, select Recipient#1. Recipient#1 refers to the (1)Phone number that you set on the Global Parameters screen.

This entry specifies that the SMS messages sent to the Geo SCADA Expert GSM modem (Recipient#1) will be encoded as 8-bit data (that is, encoded in binary format).

You have completed a working configuration of the data logger.

Now follow these steps:

  1. Disconnect your computer from the device.
  2. Disconnect Kervisu. To do this, click on the Disconnect icon.

Proceed to Create a SCADAPack 50 Test Database.
