SCADAPack x70

Monitor or Control System Data on a SCADAPack x70 Device

With SCADAPack x70 devices, internal information that represents the operating status of a SCADAPack x70 device is referred to as system data. You can use the SCADAPack x70 driver to retrieve system data from a SCADAPack x70 device. Likewise, with items of system data that are writable, you can use the driver to set the value of that data in a SCADAPack x70 device. To do this, in addition to the usual SCADAPack x70 configuration in Geo SCADA Expert, you need to:

  1. Create and configure a SCADAPack x70 Analog or Digital Configuration item per item of system data.
  2. Associate the Configuration item with the relevant SCADAPack x70 Device Configuration item (the one that represents the SCADAPack x70 device on which the system data is located) (see Properties that are Common to Configuration Items).
  3. Set the Mapping tab of the Configuration item to 'System Data' and specify the item of system data that the Configuration item represents (see Configure the Properties on the Mapping Tab).
  4. Create and Configure a protocol-specific SCADAPack x70 Point of the relevant type (analog, digital or binary) to associate with the above Configuration items, in order to monitor or control the system data from Geo SCADA Expert.

The type of system data that a device supports varies, depending on factors such as the model of SCADAPack x70 device, the version of firmware that it is running, and so on. For more information, please refer to the documentation provided with your SCADAPack x70 devices.
