Add and Configure an SQL Export
In order to export the result of an SQL Query and define the location and format in which that result is to be exported, you need to configure at least one SQL Export item in the Geo SCADA Expert database. You need to configure a separate SQL Export item per SQL Query.
To add an SQL Export item to your database:
- Display the Database Bar (see Display an Explorer Bar).
- In the Database Bar, right click on the Group or Group Template within which you want to add an SQL Export.
A context sensitive menu is displayed. - Select the Create New option.
A further menu is displayed. - Select the Other option.
A further menu is displayed. - Select SQL Export option.
An SQL Export item is added to the database. The entry is highlighted, ready for you to define its name.
Configure each SQL Export item using the SQL Export Form. For general information on working with Forms, see Working with Forms.
The SQL Export Form has several tabs:
- Identification—Use this tab to optionally define a Help View and to indicate whether the SQL Export is to be excluded from any Exclusive Control activity (see Defining Identification Details).
-
Location—Use to specify the item's geographical coordinates. (You need only configure the properties on this tab if your system uses Geo SCADA Expert's Geographical Location features.)
- User Methods—Use this tab to define any custom pick actions (‘methods’) for the SQL Export (see Using the User Methods Tab to Define Custom Actions).
- Alarm—Use this tab to define optional features associated with SQL Export alarms (see Defining an Item or Group’s Alarm Properties).
- Redirection—Use this tab to define any SQL Export alarm redirections (see Configure Alarm Redirections for an Item or Group).
- SQL Export—Use this tab to Configure the SQL Export Properties.
Use the Export SQL Query Result pick action to export the result of an SQL Export item’s SQL Query, using the settings specified on the configuration Form.
