Configure a DNP3 SCADAPack Security Configuration Item

If you want to download a security configuration file to a SCADAPack E outstation from Geo SCADA Expert, you first need to import that file into the Geo SCADA Expert database. To do this, you need to create and configure a DNP3 SCADAPack Security Configuration item in the database. You need one DNP3 SCADAPack Security Configuration item for each security configuration file that you want to download to your outstations. (Therefore, if the outstations on your system require three separate security configuration files between them, you need to configure three DNP3 SCADAPack Security Configuration items—one of each security configuration file.)

The configuration Form for each DNP3 SCADAPack Security Configuration item has just two tabs—Identification and User Methods. For information on configuring the properties on these tabs, see Tabs that are Common to Many Configuration Forms in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Advanced Drivers.

Use the DNP3 SCADAPack Security Configuration item’s Import Security Configuration pick action to import the required security configuration file into Geo SCADA Expert.

To ascertain the latest security configuration file that has been imported using a particular DNP3 SCADAPack Security Configuration item, view that item’s Status display (see Status Displays in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to ViewX and Virtual ViewX Clients, and see DNP3 SCADAPack Security Configuration Status Attributes).

Once the security configuration has been imported, use the Download Security Configuration pick action to download the security configuration to the relevant SCADAPack E outstation(s). To ascertain the latest security configuration file that has been downloaded to an outstation, look at the Downloaded Security File attribute on that outstation’s Status display.
