Optionally Associate one or More Profiles with the Point
This section applies to DNP3 SCADAPack Binary points that have a Point Type other than ‘Physical Input’. (With ‘Physical Input’ points, the fields in the Profiles section are ‘grayed out’ and unavailable for use.)
Use the fields within the Profiles section of the Binary Point tab to specify whether any Profiles are used to control the point’s current value, depending on the time of day or week.
Depending on the outstation’s Profile Type, DNP3 SCADAPack binary points can use either:
- A stepped Standard Unsigned Long Time Profile, which you optionally specify in the Current Value field within the Profiles section of the tab.
You only need specify a Profile in the Current Value field if the point’s value is to change according to that Profile. Leave the field blank if the point’s value is not to change according to a Profile.
- Daily DNP3 SCADAPack Binary Profiles, which you optionally specify in the Sunday to Saturday fields.
Leave the fields blank if the point is not Profile-controlled, or specify a Profile per day if the point is Profile-controlled.
Fields that do not apply to the specified Profile Type are ‘grayed out’ and unavailable for use.
Use the Historic check box to specify whether Geo SCADA Expert is to store profile values historically.
For more information, see Specify Whether any Profiles are Used to Change a Point’s Limits or Current Value.
Remember that in order to associate Profiles successfully with a DNP3 SCADAPack point, you have to take into account various Limitations and Restrictions.
