Trend Sampler Limitations - Multi-Bit Binary Points
SCADAPack E outstations and 386 eNET outstations are capable of periodically sampling binary input, and derived binary point data, however the following limitations apply:
- The binary point has to have a Physical Input or Derived Point Type.
- With a 2-bit binary point (a point on which the Number of Bits property set to 2), that point can be on an outstation that is running an outstation firmware version earlier than version 8.12. This includes 2-bit binary points on outstations on which Modbus Fixed Addressing (Legacy) is used (see Configure Modbus Properties).
- With a 2-bit binary point on an outstation that is running outstation firmware version 8.12 or higher, that point's Modbus Register has to be set to 0.
The Modbus Register field is only available in SCADAPack E outstation firmware version 8.12 and higher and if the outstation is configured to use 5- or 6-digit addressing. This field is not available if the outstation is configured for fixed addressing. For more information, see Configure Modbus Properties.
- Trend sampler functionality is not supported by 3-bit binary points.
