Alarm Indicator when the Alarm Banner is Hidden in WebX
If your User Account has the Can Remove Banner feature enabled, the navigation bar on the WebX client will include a Show/Hide Alarm Banner command. The icon used for the command differs, depending whether the Alarm Banner is on display, or hidden from view.
When the Alarm Banner is on display, the Show/Hide Alarm Banner command uses this icon:
When the Alarm Banner is hidden, the command includes an indicator that provides information about the status of alarms to which your User Account and the WebXclient have access.
The color of the indicator changes to red whenever a new alarm is raised. The color provides a visual indication that a new unacknowledged alarm exists. The indicator is also colored red if a new alarm is suppressed by another alarm being active (see Alarm Suppression).
The number shown on the indicator comprises the number of unacknowledged alarms.
When a new alarm occurs, you should display the Alarm Banner and check the new alarm. Decide what action you need to take to have the cause of the alarm investigated and the abnormal condition rectified (see Perform an Action on an Alarm). If configured for the item or the Group in which it is located, you might also want to use the Display Alarm View option to display the 'file' type object that is associated with the item's alarm state.
Once you have checked the alarm and taken the appropriate action, select the Alarm Bell Button on the Alarm Banner - the button's color will change to gray. If you hide the Alarm Banner, the color on the indicator also changes to gray until another new alarm is raised.
