Configure a Parameter
To configure a Parameter, you need to display the Parameter’s Form (see Display a Form).
Each Parameter Form has these tabs:
- Identification—Use to optionally define a Help View and to indicate whether the Parameter is to be excluded from any Exclusive Control activity (see Defining Identification Details).
-
Location—Use to specify the item's geographical coordinates. (You need only configure the properties on this tab if your system uses ClearSCADA's Geographical Location features.)
- User Methods—Use to define any custom pick actions (‘methods’) for the Parameter (see Using the User Methods Tab to Define Custom Actions).
Each Form also has a <Parameter Type> tab that you use to configure the parameter(s) attributes. The tab varies, depending on the type of Parameter that you are configuring:
- Use the Address tab to Specify a Postal Address
- Use the Double tab to Specify a Double-Precision Floating Point Number
- Use the Grid Reference tab to Specify an Ordnance Survey Grid Reference
- Use the Link tab to Specify the Database Item that a Link Parameter is to Reference
- Use the Parameter Table tab to Specify the String Parameters that a Parameter Table is to Store
- Use the String tab to Specify a Single String Parameter.
