Local Time

Local Time is the time local to the region of the world in which a user or device is located. Each Local Time zone around the world can be expressed as a positive or negative offset from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).

Many countries that are not close to the equator adopt Daylight Saving Time for part of the year (see Daylight Saving Time). The Local Time for the rest of the year is known as Standard Time.

Although internally, the ClearSCADA server processes and stores time values in UTC, ClearSCADA can communicate with devices that run in UTC or Local Time. With each device that runs in Local Time, ClearSCADA converts the time from UTC to Local Time and vice versa as required (see Time Zone Support in ClearSCADA).
