Installation on Clients on Which You Only Want to Display or Print or Export Reports
On the ViewX clients on which you want to display reports, or print or export reports locally, but not edit reports, you need to:
- Install the ClearSCADA software, including:
- The relevant SAP Crystal Reports runtime engine for .NET Framework 4 components (see Prerequisite Components in the ClearSCADA Installation Guide)
NOTE: You must install .NET 3.5 Full Runtime (see Prerequisite Components in the ClearSCADA Guide to Installation). With Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 8.1 and 10, you must do this before you run Setup. Use Programs and Features in the Windows Control Panel to turn the feature on (see the Windows Help). With Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, you can either use this method or you can select .NET 3.5 Full Runtime from the available prerequisite options when you run Setup (see Installation of Prerequisites).
- The ViewX Client Crystal Reports component.
- The relevant SAP Crystal Reports runtime engine for .NET Framework 4 components (see Prerequisite Components in the ClearSCADA Installation Guide)
- Repeat the above step on each of the ClearSCADA clients that will be used for displaying, printing or exporting reports (but will not be used for editing).
You can request the server to export or print a report from any client. Such requests are made using the Print Report or Export Report pick actions, respectively.
On any WebX clients on which you want to display the latest generated version of a report, you need to:
- Install the ClearSCADA WebX Client component, or download the component automatically from the Web server (if permitted to do so by Windows® Internet Explorer security).
- Install Adobe Reader® from the Adobe website (http://www.adobe.com/reader).
- Repeat the above steps for each of the WebX clients that will be used to display reports.
You can display the latest generated reports on a WebX client.
You can only view reports on an Original WebX client if the reports have been configured to be available (see Specify Whether a Report is to be Made Available for Display in Original WebX).
