The ClearSCADA DNP3 SCADAPack E driver supports the following DNP3 SCADAPack analog point types:
- Physical Analog Inputs using DNP3 SCADAPack Analog Input Points.
- Physical Analog Outputs using DNP3 SCADAPack Analog Output Points.
- Derived (User and System) Analog Points using either DNP3 SCADAPack Analog Input Point or DNP3 SCADAPack Analog Output Points.
You configure the properties of each analog point using the appropriate DNP3 SCADAPack Analog Point Form. Each Form has several tabs. This section covers configuration of properties on the Analog Point and Mapping tabs of each Point Form, plus the Control tab of the DNP3 SCADAPack Analog Output Point Form.
For both DNP3 SCADAPack Analog Input Point and DNP3 SCADAPack Analog Output Points, use the Analog Point tab to:
- Configure General Properties
- Configure Alarm Limits
- Specify when a Change in Value Triggers a Change in Point State
- Configure Overrange and Underrange Processing
- Define whether the Alarm Limits can be Tuned
- Specify how the SCADAPack Outstation Handles Underrange, Overrange and Invalid RTU Events
- Specify the Area of Interest (see Specify the Area of Interest Associated with a Point’s State-Related Alarms and Events in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration). (Only applies if the Area of Interest feature is enabled on your system.)
- Optionally Associate one or More Profiles with the Point
- Configure Point Scaling
- Configure the Event Deviation Properties
- Configure Rate of Change Properties
- Specify Whether the SCADAPack Outstation is to Detect if an Analog Point has Stopped Changing
- Configure Formatting Properties (see Define the Appearance of an Analog Point’s Values in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Configure Override Properties (see Configure Override Properties in the ClearSCADA Guide to the DNP3 Driver)
- Configure Significant Change Properties
- Configure the No Change Properties (see Detect Whether a Point Value has Stopped Changing in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Configure Trend Properties (see Define an Analog Point’s Trend Settings in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Configure Logged Data Properties (see Configure Logged Data Properties in the ClearSCADA Guide to the DNP3 Driver)
- Specify the Point Data Class that Applies when Communicating with another DNP3 Master.
For DNP3 SCADAPack Analog Input Points and DNP3 SCADAPack Analog Output Points that are Physical Inputs or Physical Outputs, use the Mapping tab to:
For DNP3 SCADAPack Analog Output Points that can be controlled by ClearSCADA, there are two additional tabs: a Control Tab and a Control Checks tab.
Use the Control tab to:
- Configure the Analog Control Range and Severity Properties (see Define the Control Settings for an Analog Output Point in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Promote Retrieval of Data Associated with Controls (see Specify which Outstations are Integrity Polled after a Successful Control in the ClearSCADA Guide to the DNP3 Driver)
- Configure Analog Output Point DNP3 and SCADAPack Control Properties.
For each DNP3 SCADAPack Output point that ClearSCADA is to control exclusively, or for which point control alters between ClearSCADA and ISaGRAF, ensure that the point’s Control aggregate is enabled (see Specify Whether an Output Point is Controlled by ClearSCADA in the ClearSCADA Guide to the DNP3 Driver).
For each DNP3 SCADAPack Output point that is controlled exclusively by another application, rather than ClearSCADA, you need to disable that point’s Control aggregate. For such points, fields on the Control tab are unavailable for use and you can ignore the above references.
You can optionally use the Control Checks tab to configure the Control Checks settings (see Configuring Control Checks Settings in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration).
The properties on other tabs are common to points on many advanced drivers—for information, see Tabs on Point Forms in the ClearSCADA Guide to Advanced Drivers.
NOTE:If a SCADAPack E outstation is a Modbus Slave and a Modbus master is to read or write to 32-bit analog point data on that outstation, you should specify that data using a DNP3 SCADAPack 32-bit Point Modbus Map(see Configuring DNP3 SCADAPack 32-bit Point Modbus Maps).
If the outstations on your system are to sample analog point data for data trends, you need to configure the required Trend item(s) in the database and associate those items with the relevant analog points (see Configuring DNP3 SCADAPack E Trend Sampler Functionality).
