Configuring String Points
NTP Monitor Scanners support string points.
You need to configure one string point in the ClearSCADA database for each point that monitors string-type data on an NTP device.
You might, for instance, use a string point to:
- Retrieve the version of NTP that is running on an NTP server (by monitoring its System.version tag)
- Identify the server or reference clock with which the machine is synchronizing (by monitoring the System.refid tag).
Configure a string point’s properties using the fields on the NTP Monitor String Point Form.
The Form has several tabs.
The fields on the String Point tab are common to string points on several drivers (see Defining String Point Details in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration).
Use the fields on the NTP Monitor tab to Configure the NTP Monitor Point Properties.
For information on the fields on other tabs, see Tabs on Point Forms in the ClearSCADA Guide to Simple Drivers.
