Accessing the Pick Action Configuration Wizard

The Pick Action Configuration Wizard is a special display that provides a simple step-by-step procedure for creating pick actions. Each page of the Wizard contains options and settings that you have to use to define the type and functionality of your pick action menus.

To display the Pick Action Wizard:

1. Display the required Mimic in Design Mode (see Displaying a Mimic).
2. On the Mimic, locate the object for which you want to display the Pick Action Configuration Wizard.
3. Perform one of the following:
   1. Right-click on the object.
      A context-sensitive menu is displayed.
   2. Select the Pick Action Wizard option.

   or:

   1. Double-click on the object.
      The Properties Window is displayed.
   2. Select the Pick Action button on the General tab.

   or:

   1. Click on the object.
   2. Select the Graphics tab on the ViewX ribbon.
   3. Select the Properties command.
      The Properties window is displayed.
   4. Select the Pick Action button on the General tab.

   The Pick Action Wizard is displayed.
   

You can use the Pick Action Configuration Wizard for:

• Creating an Object Menu Pick Action
• Creating a Hyperlink Pick Action (see Hyperlinks)
• Creating a Method Pick Action
• Associating a Script with a Pick Action (see Associate a Mimic Script with a Script Pick Action in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Scripting)
• Creating a Registry Pick Action

  From Geo SCADA Expert 2019 onwards, the location from which the REGISTRY function retrieves a value varies, depending on the type of client from which the function is triggered (see REGISTRY).
