Historic Life for WITS Outstation Configuration Import Reports

If a WITS Field Device configuration import is unsuccessful, Geo SCADA Expert generates a report. The report contains details about any errors that are detected when updating the database with the settings in the incremental configuration file. For example, a report could contain details about missing template property overrides or settings that are incompatible with the Field Device. You can use the information in the report to locate incorrect or incompatible configuration settings. By default, Geo SCADA Expert stores each report for 4 weeks. When the 4 week limit is reached, Geo SCADA Expert discards the report.

By using the Historic tab on the WITS Outstation Form, you can change the 4 week time limit to suit your own requirements:

  1. Run ViewX and log on via a user account that has the Configure permission.
  2. In the Database Bar, display the Form for the WITS Outstation item see Display a Form.
  3. Select the Historic tab.

The Historic tab is only included on the relevant configuration Forms when the Historic Files feature is enabled on the server. The Historic Files feature enables Geo SCADA Expert to store files such as reports historically (see Enable or Disable Historic Files).

  4. Use the Life setting to specify when Geo SCADA Expert will discard any configuration import reports for this Device Profile. The default setting is 4W (4 weeks). Enter the required interval in the OPC Time Format. You can enter the value directly in the field, or use the Interval window (accessed via the field's browse button) to specify the required value.
  5. Save the configuration.
