Creating a Map Set
A Map Set is a list of the Map Sources (layers) in a Geo SCADA Expert map. To create a map you combine one or more Map Sources to create a Map Set, which you can then display as a multi-layered composite map. For example, a Map Set could comprise a base layer (such as the OpenStreetMap world map) and a graphic overlay, showing wind speed and direction data. For more information, see Creating a Geo SCADA Expert Map and see Creating a Map Source.
Each Map Set is represented in the Geo SCADA Expert database by a Map Set database item.
To create a new Map Set database item:
- Display the Database Bar (see Display an Explorer Bar).
- In the Database Bar, right-click on the Group, Group Template, or system that is to contain the new Map Set.
A context sensitive menu is displayed. - Select the Create New option.
A further menu is displayed. - Select the Geographic Information System option.
A further menu is displayed. - Select the Map Set option.
Geo SCADA Expert adds a new Map Set database item to the Database Bar and selects it automatically, ready for you to enter its name.
- Type a suitable name, then press the Enter key to confirm (or select another part of the ViewX interface).
When you have created a new Map Set database item, the next step is to define the Map Set settings (see Configuring a Map Set).
