Points Used on OPC UA Servers

With the OPC UA driver, you create and configure one OPC UA Point per item of data that you want to monitor and/or control on an OPC UA server.

You have to configure points of the appropriate type to represent the type of data that you want the driver to retrieve and process.

The driver supports the following types of point:

• OPC UA Analog Points
• OPC UA Digital Points
• OPC UA String Points
• OPC UA Time Points

You configure each point using the appropriate OPC UA Point Form. The configuration Form contains many fields, organized into tabs. Most of these tabs contain properties that are common to points on many drivers (see Tabs on Point Forms in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Advanced Drivers).

Properties on the <Point Type> tab comprise:

• Properties that are common to points on the OPC UA driver (see Configure the Common Point Properties)
• Properties that are specific to a type of point (see the appropriate reference above).
