Configure a Multitone Pager Service
If your system is using Multitone pagers, you need to configure Multitone Pager Service database items to represent the Multitone protocol.
Each Multitone Pager Service item represents the Multitone pager protocol and has a range of properties including timeouts and retries. If you have multiple Multitone systems, you will need to configure one Multitone Pager Service and one Multitone Channel for each system. This is because a Multitone Pager Service has a one-to-one relationship with a Multitone Pager Channel.
To configure a Multitone Pager Service:
- Log on to your system via a User Account that has the Configure Database permission (see Allocating Security Permissions in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Security).
- Display the Pager Service Form for the Pager Service item you want to configure. If the item does not already exist in the database, you will need to Create a Pager Service Database Item.
- Configure the properties on the Identification, User Methods, Alarm, and Redirection tabs as required (see Tabs on Configuration Forms)
- Configure the properties on the Multitone Service tab. The properties are common to many Pager Services (see Configure the Common Pager Service Properties).
- Save the configuration (see Saving Configuration Changes in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Configuration).
When you have configured and saved a Multitone Pager Service, you will be able to associate it with Pager Channels and User accounts.
