Points on Simple Drivers

Geo SCADA Expert uses Points to represent the calculated values, measuring instruments or control devices that are connected to the scanners on your system. The type of point differs, depending on the type of calculation, measuring instrument or control device that the point represents.

The point types that are supported by simple drivers differ, depending on the driver—for a list of supported points, see the driver-specific documentation.

Before you configure a point in Geo SCADA Expert, carry out any necessary Preparation so that you can specify the appropriate properties for the point in the Geo SCADA Expert database.

You configure the points required on your system using the appropriate Point Forms (see Create and Configure a Point in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration).

Each Point Form has several tabs (see Tabs on Point Forms). Use the tabs to define different aspects of point configuration.
