Configuring Digital Points
The Sofrel driver supports 1-, 2-, and 3-bit Digital Input points and Digital Output points.
Configure the properties for each Digital point using the fields on the Digital Input Point Form, or the Digital Output Point Form, as appropriate.
This section covers configuration of properties on the Digital Point tab of both Digital Point Forms, and the properties on the Control tab for Digital Output points. The properties on other tabs are common to points on many advance drivers (see Tabs on Point Forms).
Use the Digital Point tab to:
- Configure Common Digital Point Properties
- Define the Format of a Digital Points Value.
- Point State Properties
- Define Override Properties (see Define whether a Digital Point can be Overridden).
- Define Trend Properties (see Define a Digital Point’s Trend Settings).
- Define the Historic Data settings (see Specify the Type of Point Data that Geo SCADA Expert is to Store Historically).
For Digital Output Points, use the Control tab to:
- Configure the Control Actions (see Define the Control Settings for a Digital Output Point).
The Confirm combo box used to define whether a confirmation dialog box is displayed whenever an operator attempts to send a control applies to Control and Lock, Unlock and Control and Force pick actions (see Define the Control Settings for a Digital Output Point).
- Specify whether any outstations are given Scanning Priority whenever a Control Action is Issued (see Promoting Scanning of Outstations Associated with Controls).
- Specify Whether to Update the Point Value Immediately Following a Control.
Use the Control Checks tab to:
- Configure the Control Feedback check (see Control Feedback Settings).
- Configure the Uncommanded Change check (see Uncommanded Change check).
