Create a Super User Account

The Super User account is a special user account that has unlimited access to all Geo SCADA Expert features. It is designed to be used when the initial security features are yet to be set up on a new system, or have been configured incorrectly and are preventing access to your system. With the latter situation, you can use the Super User account to log on to the main server and rectify the security configuration errors. You can change the credentials of the Super User account via the Security section of the Server Configuration Tool. Once you have set up your system to include suitably configured Geo SCADA Expert User Accounts for performing administrative functions, we recommend that you disable the Super User account. You do this via the Server Configuration Tool (see Configure the Super User Account).

On the Super User Account page of the Geo SCADA Expert Installer, you can choose whether you want to enable the Super User account. You can also define the log on details for the Super User. As the Super User account has no restrictions (other than that it only enables access to the local server on which that account exists), you should only allow authorized personnel access to the Super User’s user name and password.

1. Enter a User Name for the Super User. This will be the exact User Name required to log on to Geo SCADA Expert via the Super User account.
2. Enter a Password for the Super User. Again, this will be the exact password required for log on. You have to specify a password that is at least 12 characters long. The password is case-sensitive. It is stored in encrypted format and is designed only to be decrypted by the server on which it was created.
3. Enter the password again in the Confirm Password field.
4. If this is a clean installation of Geo SCADA Expert, select Next to proceed to Web Server Ports Configuration.

   If you are modifying an existing installation of Geo SCADA Expert, select Next to proceed to Ready to Install.
