Points Used on Advanced EWS Groups
Advanced EWS Groups read and write to data on Advanced EWS servers. You need to map the data on each EWS server to suitable Advanced EWS Points within the ClearSCADA database, to enable ClearSCADA to handle the data in a similar way to other point data on the system (for instance, in order to monitor state changes, raise alarms, or execute controls).
The Advanced EWS Driver supports the point types that are listed below. You need to configure those point types that present the Advanced EWS node data in a suitable format within the ClearSCADA database. You do this using the properties on the relevant Advanced EWS Point Form.
For information on creating a point and displaying a Point Form, see Configuring a Point in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration.
For information on configuring fields on the <Advanced EWS Point Type> tab on the Point Form, see the references below:
- Advanced EWS Analog Point—see Configuring Advanced EWS Analog Points
- Advanced EWS Digital Point—see Configuring Digital Points
- Advanced EWS String Point—see Configuring String Points
- Advanced EWS Time Point—see Configuring Time Points
The Advanced EWS Driver supports input and output points. Advanced EWS Analog and Digital points include a Control tab, which allows you to enable and configure output points.
The properties on other tabs are common to points on multiple drivers, see Tabs on Point Forms.
