Add a System Command

This section only applies to System Commands that ClearSCADA is to execute on user request from the Database Bar, a Queries List, or any Mimic on which a System Command database item is included. (For more information on the circumstances under which ClearSCADA can execute a system command, see Decide When ClearSCADA is to Execute a System Command.)

To add a System Command item to the ClearSCADA database:

  1. Display the Database Bar (see Display an Explorer Bar).
  2. In the Database Bar, right-click on the System or Group for which you want to add a System Command.
A context sensitive menu is displayed.
  3. Select the Create New option.
    A further menu is displayed.
  4. Select the Other option.
    A further menu is displayed.
  5. Select the System Command option.
A System Command is added to the root of the System or to the selected Group (depending on your selection in step 2). It is selected automatically, ready for you to enter its name.
  6. Enter a suitable name for the item (taking into account the ClearSCADA Naming Restrictions).
  7. Press the Enter key or select another part of the ViewX interface to confirm the entry.

When you have added a System Command to the system, you can then Configure the Properties on the System Command Form.
