Configure the Connection for the ClearSCADA Client

The first step when setting up a Third Party ODBC Client connection is to configure the connection for the ClearSCADA client:

  1. Log on to Windows on the PC that is running the Third Party application(s).
  2. Run the ClearSCADA Client applet Display the ClearSCADA Client Applet.
  3. At the User Account Control prompt, select Continue to allow the ClearSCADA Client applet to run.
  4. When the ClearSCADA Client applet runs, select the Add button to display the ClearSCADA Client Configuration window.
  5. Use the ClearSCADA Client Configuration window to create a new connection. The configuration you need to define is exactly the same as that for a ViewX - System connection, with these settings available:
  6. When you have defined the connection settings, select the OK button to apply them. The Client Configuration window is closed and the new connection is added to the list on the ClearSCADA Client applet.
  7. If you need to adjust the Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol settings, select the TCP/IP Tuning button to display the TCP/IP Tuning Parameters window. This feature works in exactly the same way as when configuring a ViewX - System connection. For more information, Define the TCP/IP Tuning Settings for a ViewX Client - System Connection.
  8. Select the Licenses button to display the Client Licensing window. Use this window to associate the Third Party ODBC client with a data access license Associate a Third-Party ODBC Client - System with a Data Access License.
  9. Close the ClearSCADA Client Applet.
