Add a Layer

To create a Layer:

1. Display the Layers window (see Display the Layers Window).
2. Select the Add button.
   A new layer is added to the list. It is selected automatically, ready for you to define its name.
3. Type a suitable name for the layer, then press the enter key or select another part of the interface to confirm the entry.

The new layer has the default layer settings. You can change these settings as required (see Edit the Layer Settings).
