Interest Update Rate

The ClearSCADA server checks for changes to third-party OPC clients and Mimics, Lists, and so on, every 500 milliseconds by default. If your system needs to make use of faster updates, you will need to change the Interest Update Rate from 500 milliseconds to a lower number.

ATTENTION: Lowering the Interest Update Rate can have a significant effect on your system performance.

To alter the Interest Update Rate:

  1. Access the ClearSCADA Server Configuration Tool.
  2. Expand the Global Parameters branch of the tree structure.
  3. Select Advanced to display the Advanced section.
  4. Enter the required number of milliseconds in the Interest Update Rate field.
  5. Apply the changes to the server.

Now that you have configured the Interest Update Rate settings, you can either proceed to configure other advanced settings or you can continue with the server configuration.

If you are unfamiliar with the server configuration process, we recommend that you proceed to learn about Channel Settings.

The Fast Update setting for Mimics does not allow Mimics to be updated faster than the Interest Update Rate. If the Mimic Fast Update setting is faster than the server's Interest Update Rate, the Mimic will be updated at the Interest Update Rate. The Fast Update setting for Mimics is defined on the Options window.
