This section applies to DNP3 outstations that support Device Attributes. Section 4 of an outstation's DNP3 Device Profile document lists the Device Attributes that it supports.
Many DNP3 outstations support a combination of the common Device Attributes that are listed below. Some DNP3 outstations also support block(s) of vendor-specific Device Attributes.
Each block of Device Attributes is stored at a separate index location at the outstation. Within the outstation’s Status display, each block of Device Attributes is displayed separately, in index order. Each block is each identified and headed by its corresponding Device Attributes status attribute.
Where an outstation supports vendor-specific Device Attributes, you can use the User-Specific Attributes status attribute to ascertain how many block(s) of vendor-specific Device Attributes exist at the outstation, and the order in which each block is listed.
This section lists the common Device Attributes, a combination of which many DNP3 outstations support. For information on vendor-specific Device Attributes, see the vendor-specific documentation.
Once Geo SCADA Expert has read an outstation’s Device Attributes during a Group 0 Device Attribute poll, a combination of Device Attributes are displayed.
