The IEC 60870-5 KEMA driver is an IEC 60870-5 extension driver. It provides additional functionality to enable Geo SCADA Expert to communicate specifically with KEMA compliant devices, using the IEC 60870-5-101 protocol over a direct, PSTN or GSM connection. In order to communicate with such devices, your Geo SCADA Expert system needs to be running both the IEC 60870-5 driver and the IEC 60870-5 KEMA extension driver (see Confirm that the Required Geo SCADA Expert Components are Installed).
To enable KEMA compliant devices to communicate with Geo SCADA Expert using the IEC 60870-5-101 protocol over PSTN, the devices need to run suitable logic programs or the relevant part of the device's core firmware/software functionality.
