Define which Configuration Properties are Retrieved from an OPC Source
When a similar point property exists in an OPC data source, the OPC XML-DA Client driver can retrieve the value of that property directly from the OPC data source. Retrieving the value of a configuration property in this way avoids the need for engineers to specify the property manually within the Geo SCADA Expert database.
Use the Configuration Properties section of the OPC XML-DA tab to specify which property values the OPC XML-DA Client driver is to retrieve for a digital point, and the IDs that identify each of those properties in the OPC data source. For further information on using this section of the tab, see Retrieve Configuration Properties from an OPC Data Source.
For a digital point, you can specify whether the OPC XML-DA Client driver is to retrieve the values for any of these properties:
- Search Key 1—If your system has been configured to display an extra configuration field on each Point Form and that field has been set up using Search Key 1, you can use the Search Key 1 check box on the OPC XML-DA Digital Point Form to specify whether to retrieve the value of the Search Key 1 field from the OPC data source.
If selected, use the adjacent field to specify the property ID of the Search Key 1 parameter in the OPC data source. For more information on Search Key 1, see Retrieve the Value of a Search Key 1 Field.
- State 0 Description—Use the check box to specify whether to retrieve the value of the State 0 Description field from the OPC data source. If selected, use the adjacent field to specify the property ID of the State 0 Description parameter in the OPC data source.
- State 1 Description—Use the check box to specify whether to retrieve the value of the State 1 Description field from the OPC data source. If selected, use the adjacent field to specify the property ID of the State 1 Description parameter in the OPC data source.
