Configuring a SCADAPack 50 Outstation
A SCADAPack 50 Outstation database item represents a SCADAPack 50 device.
You should create a SCADAPack 50 Outstation database item for each SCADAPack 50 device with which Geo SCADA Expert will communicate. You can organize these items within a group (see Add a Driver Specific Item to the Database in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Advanced Drivers and see Groups in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Configuration). Also, you need to be logged on with a User Account that has the Configure Database feature enabled and has the relevant permissions set (see Creating a User Account in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Security).
You configure each SCADAPack 50 Outstation item by using a SCADAPack 50 Outstation Form (see Display a Form in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Configuration). A Form has a number of tabs. Many of these tabs are common to many drivers (see Tabs on Outstation Forms in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Advanced Drivers and see Tabs that are Common to Many Configuration Forms in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Advanced Drivers).
Each tab on a SCADAPack 50 Outstation Form contains a number of fields (see Fields on Forms in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Configuration). You use these fields to configure the Outstation properties.
The following tabs contain SCADAPack 50-specific fields that you need to configure:
- Outstation tab—You can specify when Geo SCADA Expert should send SMS messages to the device (see Specify the Communications Availability of the SCADAPack 50 Device) and (see SCADAPack 50 and SMS Messaging).
- SCADAPack 50 tab—For more information on how to use this tab, see the topics that are listed in the gray footer section at the bottom of this topic. Select the relevant entry to display the topic that you require.
